York Art Gallery

York Art Gallery houses CoCa, Centre of Ceramic Art, the largest collection of British studio ceramics in the UK. We will draw from this collection located in the light and airy upstairs gallery using a variety of ‘dry’ materials including pencil, graphite, oil and chalk pastels. You will learn how to learn how to gather a wealth of visual research to take back to the studio and  work up into a series of developmental pieces and then leading to finished paintings. Practical demonstrations will be given throughout the week, being taught how to use composition effectively through both black and white and colour media.

Admission fee to the gallery is included in the price of the course.
